There is a quote, attributed to William H Gass, that says “The True Alchemist does not change lead into Gold, they change the world into words”. It is a metaphor about the power that a writer has to distill the essence of the world into words on a page. To some extent this is the power of the politician, to distill the essence of the world into policies, which are words on paper. In order to achieve this feat with success, there is a prerequisite of excellence on the part of the writer in the metaphor, or in the persona of the politician, in my parallel. As politicians deal in words, which converted into polices and laws, can shape societies and peoples, they are wholly dependent on the trust, we, the voters, have in them. Nu mai pot gandi. Zi de zi ma lovesc de situatii si intamplari care imi aplatizeaza creierul. Ma simteam...neintegrat. Am revenit pe meleaguri Dambovitene acum un an si doua luni. Ma intorsesem dupa ce petrecusem trei ani pe malurile Tamisei.  Am revenit, dornic de munca si succes, gata sa mut munti intru propasirea companiei mele, care ma angajase. Treptat insa pietrele de moara ale mentalitatii romanesti au inceput sa ma macine. Incet dar sigur, zi de zi, de la agresivitatea in trafic, la semidoctia de la birou, la aroganta politicienilor "conducatori", la mizeriile de emisuni de divertisment, am inceput sa duc dorul strainatatii. De ce oare? Salar bun am (chiar si dupa standarde vest europene). Casa am, masa am, masina am. Am tot, nu? Nu! Insa, intr-o zi, am descoperit ceva. Ca in marea de jeg, deziluzie, dispret, aroganta, miticism si colb balcanic, sunt si mici pepite de normalitate. Am vazut ca in marea de colegi, exista cativa care nu sunt "la fel...
